Chief Executive OfficerSteve Tumen has extensive experience as both an operator and investor in the financial technology space. He leverages his 35 years of experience in the financial industry to provide informed direction to Deep Systems. Steve’s previous roles as an executive and practitioner managing some of the largest index, volatility, and interest rate books in the industry gives him direct insight into the obstacles our customers face.
Prior to Deep Systems, Steve was the CEO of Equitec Group where he led the firm’s strategic planning, vetted new trading groups, and built then subsequently sold the firm’s DPM business. Steve has a business degree from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Accounting and started his career at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. (predecessor to KPMG).
Chief Operating OfficerKyle Tuskey is focused on providing business, product, and operational direction to Deep Systems. He leverages his diverse background in engineering, business, and trading to ensure the operation, products, and services are focused and have clear direction. In addition to this, he is responsible for the day to day operation of the overall business.
Before Deep Systems, Kyle was the COO of Equitec Group where he was responsible for the operation of the trading and broker dealer entities. He started his career as a senior engineer for Archipelago and went on to build an algorithmic technology company, consult for multiple diverse institutions, hold a management role at NYSE Technologies, and run an electronic options market making unit at Cowen Group trading a large number of products.
Head of InfrastructureMark Cukier leads the Infrastructure Division at Deep Systems. In addition to managing his team, Mark can be found pursing his passion for problem-solving, whether that be in the data center, in business development meetings, or in matching the best Deep Systems solution for customers’ individual needs.
Previous to joining Deep Systems, Mark was the CTO of a Chicago area proprietary trading firm, and before that, the CIO at Victory Networks. Mark received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.
Head of IT ServicesEdward Schmidt is responsible for running the IT Services Division at Deep Systems. For Edward, meeting customer needs is as much of an art as a science. He has utilized this philosophy as well as his many years of experience in technology, operations, and support to create an IT Services platform designed to both meet customers’ current needs and prepare them for future evolutions of technology.
Prior to joining Deep Systems, Edward was the Head of Global Infrastructure at Cowen Group. Throughout his career he’s also held positions at UBS, JPMorgan Chase, AB, and NYSE Technologies. Edward graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a BS in Computer Information Systems.
